Callie Decker Joplin High School As a student in JROTC, Veterans Day is tons more than just a date on the calendar for me. It’s a day that shows the importance of remembering and honoring those who have served our country. Being a cadet in JROTC has given me a little bit of a deeper appreciation for the values of service and sacrifice (via textbook and numerous community events), and made me realize how important it is for younger folks to think about what veterans have given up for our freedom.
