MADISON, Wis. -- The Madison Metropolitan School District on Friday said it closed a Title IX investigation into two Whitehorse Middle School staff members falsely accused of physically and sexually abusing a student.

A viral social media post accused the staff members of taking the student to a home on Margaret Street, where the student was then abused. That address was based on a reading from the child's GPS tracker.

Madison police debunked the post last week, saying the child refuted the claims made in the post and that video footage placed both the child and staff members at the school during the time when the assault was alleged to have occurred.

Police also spoke to the residents of the Margaret Street home, and concluded they had no knowledge of the student or the allegations bef
