ALBANY, N.Y. (WTEN) -- Governor Kathy Hochul has ordered state agencies to issue full federal Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits for November, she announced on Friday.

“After weeks of the Trump administration putting millions of New Yorkers through chaos and confusion, following guidance from USDA, I've directed state agencies to issue full federal SNAP benefits for November," said Hochul in a statement. "We expect the first New Yorkers to begin having access to their benefits starting Sunday."

This comes as the Trump administration asked a federal appeals court on Friday to block a judge’s order that it needs to distribute November’s full monthly SNAP benefits amid the government shutdown.
