Palo Alto High School assistant coach Jason Fung is in some serious trouble.

The assistant high school football coach and father of the team’s quarterback became so enraged that he allegedly tried to tackle an opposing player, igniting a melee and prompting a call to local police.

At a high school football game in Atherton over the weekend, police responded to a call after the coach sparked an explosive incident by attempting to tackle an opposing player.

The incident occurred during the fourth quarter of the game that Sacred Heart ultimately won, sending Paly to a 0-9 record.

In that contest, Jason Fung, who was on the sidelines, became enraged after his son and Paly quarterback Justin Fung took a sack from two Sacred Heart defenders.
