Marshall didn’t let a season-opening trip to Amherst, Massachusetts prevent the Herd from its desired start to the 2025-26 season.
MU took care of business on Monday at UMass, recording a 78-72 victory in the Mid-American Conference-Sun Belt Challenge.
Marshall remains on the road for a Saturday matchup against a former MAC foe — the Toledo Rockets. The game tips off at 2 p.m. at Savage Arena and can be seen on ESPN+.
Toledo enters off a 76-74 los to South Alabama in the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. Senior Kyler Vanderjagt and freshman Leroy Blyden Jr. led the Rockets with 17 points. VanderJagt knocked down 4-of-6 shots from beyond the arc. Blyden provided a spark off the bench, nailing five three-pointers to go with a game-high nine assists and two blocked shots.
