HILO (HawaiiNewsNow) - Firefighters continue to battle a wildfire near Mauna Kea on Hawaii Island.
The fire was first reported at around 10:30 a.m. Friday near the intersection of Mauna Kea Access and Mana roads.
As of Sunday, officials said the fire has burned approximately 2,023 acres and is 25% contained.
County fire crews, including volunteers, the Department of Public Works, as well as the state Division of Forestry and Wildlife, National Park Service, and the Hawaii National Guard are battling the blaze.
Officials said no homes are in danger at this time.
Due to the fire, be advised that;
Mana Road is closed.
Daniel K. Inouye Highway (Saddle Road) remains open.
