PAULDING COUNTY, Ga. — A fruit stand served as a front for methamphetamine trafficking, authorities said this week.
The Northwest Georgia Drug Task Force, Paulding County Sheriff's Office K-9 Division and SWAT seized 270 grams of meth during a coordinated operation last week, officials said.
Investigators reported the drugs were hidden among produce -- even a Krispy Kreme doughnut bag -- at the stand in the 3100 block of Due West Road.
Melvin Stevens, 37, was arrested on five counts of trafficking meth and one count of possession.
Athena Alloway, 49, faces four trafficking charges and one possession charge.
A third suspect, Crystal Ballweg, 39, remains at large with a warrant for meth trafficking.
Police urged anyone with information about Ballweg to contact the sheriff's office.
