RICHMOND, Va. — With new leadership headed to Richmond, some Virginia lawmakers are looking at initiatives previously voted down in the past as potentially viable options again.
State Senator Aaron Rouse has supported legislation for the sale of recreational marijuana in the Commonwealth in the past.
With a new administration taking over in the state capitol, Rouse said we could see legislation on the matter come back up.
On Thursday, Rouse met with local leaders to discuss next steps in implementing Virginia Beach’s 10-1 voting system . There, he hinted at supporting legislation that would bring the sale of recreational marijuana to Virginia.
“Any measure that we can take to find revenue, I’m very optimistic about that approach,” said Rouse.
