AUSTIN, Texas — The second day in the trial of Austin police officer Daniel Sanchez began roughly after 9 a.m. Friday.

Sanchez is accused of deadly conduct in the shooting death of Rajan Moonesinghe in Nov. 2022.

The trial started Thursday , with the state calling four witnesses to the stand. The day ended with an APD detective who was called to the incident. The defense was set to give its cross-examination to start the second day of trial, but the judge said it would be going out of order to further address the use of force, with the defense calling Jamie Borden to the stand.
