VESTAL, N.Y. (WIVT/WBGH) - Binghamton University students prepared meal kits on November 7th, amidst the cuts to SNAP benefits for the Day of Hunger Action.

Governor Kathy Hochul urged November 7th, to be a Day of Hunger Action for Empire State Service Corps students across the state.

Students supported efforts to combat food insecurity and assisted food pantries and food banks.

About 30 BU students volunteered today and prepared about 500 meal kits that will be distributed to both the campus food pantry and CHOW.

Director for the Binghamton University Center for Civic Engagement Alison Twang says students have fought food insecurity in the past, but it's more important now than ever.
