BAR HARBOR -- One of Bar Harbor's most unique events is making its way to the starting line.

Everyone is encouraged wear pajamas and head to Cottage Street Saturday morning for the 16th annual Bed Races.

For those who don't know, teams of five decorate beds and race them from the Criterion Theatre, down to the corner of Cottage and Main street, and back.

Everal Eaton, coastal town's chamber of commerce executive director, says the event is uniquely Bar Harbor.

"It's great to see locals, visitors, people from all around the state to come out to this," said Eaton. "It helps support our businesses and encourages people to shop local."
