LEXINGTON, Ky. (WKYT) - A University of Kentucky backup quarterback sparked controversy after posting a video showing stacks of cash in response to fan criticism on social media.

The incident began when a fan named Garrett criticized quarterback Zach Calzada on social media, calling him immature and saying he wasn’t good at football. Calzada responded by posting a video showing stacks of hundred dollar bills, telling the fan to “stop hatin’ and go get you some money.”

University officials said they are aware of the video and that Calzada knows his actions were “unbecoming of a student athlete.” The university plans to meet with him again.

Calzada issues apology

Calzada posted an apology on Instagram addressing his teammates, coaches and fans.
