In Thursday’s 6A girls volleyball first round match, Millennium learned just how much #8 seed Liberty has improved since its last regular season loss — Sept. 17 at Millennium.
The Lions won their 10th match that counts in a row. They did so in dominant fashion, sweeping the Tigers 25-9, 25-20, 25-17 in Peoria.
“Every team has to play to their strengths and we identified that we could be a good blocking team. We invest a lot of time every practice in blocking. The girls but in to getting better every day. We’re getting in position and getting good touches on the ball. It’s really fueling our defense and transition offense,” Liberty Coach Carl DeFriez said.
Monday, Liberty (17-5 overall, 14-1 regular season and playoffs) has another shot at revenge. But this one will be far more difficult
