It appears voters will reject a 15% maintenance and operations override for the Peoria Unified School District, according to unofficial results.
And it appears the district will start planning for this scenario.
After a fourth update from Maricopa County Elections the unofficial results show the override failing by 1,279 votes or 51.47% “no” to 48.53% “yes.”
Maricopa County Elections says there is still a small number of ballots that need signature verification by the end of today, and another very small batch that are provisional ballots. Another update is expected tomorrow.
An override funds positions and programs that might not be possible through annual funding received each year from the state of Arizona.
