JACKSONVILLE, Fla. — As new FAA flight restrictions grounded planes at 40 major airports across the country Friday, Jacksonville International Airport remained mostly unaffected.
Dozens of flights were delayed throughout the day, but there was only one cancelled flight as of 6 p.m. Nov. 7, 2025. It was American Airlines flight AA-5057 to Philadelphia, which is one of the airports grounding 4% of all its flights Friday.
The FAA confirmed that the temporary limits affected about 4% of flights nationwide, including 27 destinations served by JAX.
Those restrictions are part of a phased plan expected to tighten to 5% Saturday and up to 10% next week as the agency continues safety checks on air traffic systems.
