CHAPEL HILL, N.C. (WNCN) — For the first time ever, North Carolina men's basketball is hosting the Kansas Jayhawks in Chapel Hill.

The No. 25 Tar Heels (1-0) and No. 19 Kansas (1-0) face off in a battle between two blue blood programs — and two schools with deep ties to legendary retired head coach Roy Williams — in the Smith Center Friday night. Tip off is scheduled for 7 p.m.

Tonight's game is the back half of a home-and-home series. Last November, the Jayhawks hosted the Tar Heels at Phog Allen Field house in a game that Kansas won 92-89. The two teams have played 13 previous matchups, with Kansas holding a 7-6 edge in the all-time series.
