MEMPHIS, Tenn. (WMC) - Latoshia Daniels is accused of shooting a Memphis pastor and his wife at their Collierville home back in 2019.
Daniels is charged with first-degree murder, criminal attempted first-degree murder, and employing a firearm during a felony.
Her trial got underway on Monday. Attorneys provided closing statements Friday before the jury went into deliberation around 4 p.m.
When Daniels took the stand, according to her attorney, she shared details about her relationship with Pastor Brodes Perry, claiming he was manipulative and controlling.
The state argued that a broken heart is not an excuse or defense for murder, and they are confident the jury will find Daniels guilty.
