The latest monthly weather outlooks by the National Weather Service’s Climate Prediction Center indicate that there has been a shift in the forecast for November.
It now appears that what was initially believed to be a drier month in New York City could end up being wetter than average for a majority of the state.
According to a monthly precipitation outlook issued on Oct. 31, there is a 33% to 40% chance that the entirety of the state north and west of the Hudson Valley will experience a wetter November than usual.
Those in the Hudson Valley and south, including New York City, are given equal odds of generally recording either above-average or below-average precipitation amounts over the course of the month.
