The team behind two family-run businesses in Norton had double cause for celebration after scooping two catering industry awards. Pangea was named Best Pan Asian Restaurant in the Prestige Curry Awards 2025 while Moja was declared Best Indian Curry Takeaway.

The awards, held at the Bowburn Hall Hotel in Durham, celebrate excellence across the UK's catering and curry industry. It usually takes place in London and this was the first ceremony held up north.

Moja, on Harland Place, was founded in 2011 by brothers Mizzy and Shy Rahman and Pangea opened its doors on Norton Road in 2023 . It is run by Mizzy and his wife Sonia, offering a Pan-Asian menu with global influences.
