The Indian Air Force (IAF) has rescued 270 Indian citizens, including 26 women, who fled a cyber-scam complex in neighbouring Myanmar and illegally entered Thailand.

The returnees arrived by covert cross-border routes from the Myanmar side and were transported in two IAF special flights from the Thai border town of Mae Sot. The evacuation was carried out in close coordination with Thai immigration and law enforcement agencies, the Indian Embassy in Bangkok, and the Indian Consulate in Chiang Mai.

These individuals moved to Myanmar after receiving lucrative job offers abroad. Once inside, however, they were forced to participate in online fraud and cyber-scam operations at the KK Park compound in Myanmar's Myawaddy township, according to The Print.
