Maricopa County election officials acknowledged nearly 2,300 West Valley ballots were mishandled in a mistake that quickly reignited the discord between the recorder and the Board of Supervisors.

Two sealed bins containing 2,288 envelopes with ballots were improperly left in a ballot drop box that was properly taken to Maricopa County’s election tabulation center on Election Night.
