PINE BLUFFS — Pine Bluffs and Lingle-Fort Laramie’s football teams have developed a rivalry over the past few seasons.

After beating the Doggers in the regular season, the Hornets knew they were going to face a motivated Lingle team eager to avenge that loss.

But those hopes of redemption were quickly put to rest, as the Hornets dominated on both sides of the ball during a 65-15 win to advance to their second consecutive Class 1A nine-man state title game.

“We’re finally clicking (offensively),” Pine Bluffs coach Will Gray said. “In practice, we’ve felt like we were clicking on offense. On our first drive, we went right down on script, and it worked just like it did all week in practice.”
