CHARLESTON, WV (LOOTPRESS) – The Class AAAA No. 5 George Washington Patriots closed out their regular season with a statement win Friday night, defeating the No. 9 Woodrow Wilson Flying Eagles 42-0 at home.

The Patriots’ defense stifled Woodrow Wilson throughout the contest, keeping the Flying Eagles from finding the end zone.

With the win, George Washington improved to 8-2 on the season and solidified its position among the state’s top Class AAAA programs heading into the playoffs.

Woodrow Wilson, meanwhile, struggled to generate momentum against the Patriots’ dominant defensive unit.

The Flying Eagles wrap up their regular season at 5-5 and will await their postseason placement.
