As the final whistle faded and tears mixed with the night in Southport on Friday, Nov. 7, South Brunswick players stood in silence. Their season, so full of redemption, had ended in a 29-28 playoff heartbreaker to Seaforth.
"I don't know if there's a word made for that," coach Daniel Yow said softly, speaking of the players who never quit through a 19-game losing streak. "These kids, the tenacity of what they had to endure. It'd been so easy for them to pack it up, but they stuck with it."
