PORTLAND, Ore. — As a state senator, former state house minority leader and previous gubernatorial candidate, Christine Drazan is probably the most prominent name vying for the Republican nomination for Oregon governor next year — but she's not the only one in the race.

Republican Danielle Bethell registered her campaign in early September, and she was a guest on this week's episode of Straight Talk to discuss why she's seeking the role and how she contrasts herself against Drazan and the other Republican candidates.

Bethell is chair of the Marion County Board of Commissioners and former president of the Association of Oregon Counties, and she said her run for governor is prompted by concerns about homelessness, housing and the state's economy.
