: The Meghalaya Commercial Truck Owners’ and Drivers’ Association (MCTODA) has decided to continue its strike, awaiting the release of its president and other leaders, following a meeting with Deputy Chief Minister Sniawbhalang Dhar.
“We have decided to wait till Monday for its president’s release before deciding the next course of action. The strike will continue till Tuesday,” MCTODA member Lumlang Mawnai told reporters on Friday after briefing the outcome of the meeting with Dhar to the members of the association, who are protesting along the national highway in Mawryngkneng village, East Khasi Hills District.
“We also requested the state government to immediately release our president and other leaders and members so that there will be no disruption in the traffic flow,” he added.
