Former Los Angeles Lakers forward Christian Wood fired shots to scare off three intruders who broke into a Los Angeles-area home he was inside on Wednesday, according to reports.
Wood was inside a home in Sherman Oaks, California when he heard a crashing sound near the back of the multimillion-dollar property, ABC7 in Los Angeles reported. The three suspects broke through the back door of the home, where they were confronted by Wood.
The former NBA player fired three times into the ground, which scared off the suspects, KTLA5 reports. The suspects, who remain at large, were last seen wearing black and fleeing the scene in a gray Jeep Grand Cherokee, LAPD told The Athletic .
No injuries were reported and no items were reported stolen or missing from the home.
