Marion Local winning streak hits milestone mark as nation's longest football perfection continues into playoffs
A week off certainly didn't seem to bother Marion Local.
The Flyers had a bye in Week 11 of Ohio's high school football playoffs in the first year of the 12-teams-per-region format. Back out there Friday night in Week 12, they made quick work of things.
The final score, with help of a second-half running clock, was 42-12.
The nation's longest winning streak has now reached 75 games and counting. The Division VII school from Maria Stein, Ohio just keeps the band marching on.
Marion Local scored the first 29 points against Lehman Catholic, which had advanced to this point with a wild, 50-48 win over Minster in the opening round of the postseason.
