Bhubaneswar : A major mishap was averted today when veteran Odia actor Ashrumochan Mohanty’s car plunged into a canal while he was returning from a shoot in Cuttack.

According to reports, Mohanty, known for his contributions to Odia cinema, was on his way back to his Kalarahang residence after completing a shoot in Cuttack when the mishap occurred. The incident occurred near the new Patia Railway Station, as Mohanty swerved to avoid hitting a stray dog that had wandered onto the road.

Subsequently, Mohanty lost control over car and the car fell into the canal. He, however, managed to apply the brakes just in time, preventing the vehicle from submerging into the water.
