PIKEVILLE, Ky. (WYMT) - Knott Co. Central football went on the road to face Shelby Valley, and came out with their first postseason win in the program’s history defeating the Wildcats, 30-20.
Conner Napier opened the scoring for the Patriots with a rushing TD.
Preston Sheppard then found his way to the endzone. The Patriots also got the two-point conversion on that drive, which put them up 15-0 at that point.
Later, Shane Gibson broke off a huge run for 90-plus yards to pad Knott Co. Central’s advantage.
Jaxon Gray returned a kick for a touchdown to get the Wildcats their first points of the contest.
The Patriots will go on to face No. 7 Prestonsburg on the road at 7:00 p.m. on Nov. 14.
