BELVIDERE ― Belvidere North trailed 17-3 after the first play of the third quarter of Friday's Class 5A second-round playoff game, but the NIC-10 champion and undefeated Blue Thunder never departed from their game plan.

They continuned to pound away at Kaneland, and eventually rallied for a 30-25 come-from-behind win to qualify for the state quarterfinals for the third year in a row.
