Brody Leonard rushed for two touchdowns and caught a touchdown pass as top-seeded Haddonfield took down fourth-seeded Lower Cape May 28-13 in the semifinal round of the NJSIAA/Xfinity South Jersey, Group 2 Tournament in Haddonfield.
Lower Cape May took the early lead with a touchdown from Jonathan Fernandez, who caught a 13-yard touchdown pass from Ryan Mallon on a trick play. Britton Walls nailed the extra point as Lower Cape May led 7-0.
Leonard scored the first of his two rushing touchdowns later in the first quarter on a two-yard run as Haddonfield got on the board. Dan Keenan kicked the extra point as Haddonfield tied the game, 7-7, at the end of the first quarter.
