Shillong, Nov 7: ICAR-KVK Ri-Bhoi today organised a training programme on ‘Soil Testing for Soil Health Management and Crop Productivity Enhancement’ under the ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas’ with the theme ‘Janjatiya Gaurav Varsh Pakhwada’ from November 1 to 15.

The aim of the training programme was to create awareness and enhance the knowledge on soil health, benefits of soil health cards and soil fertility management for rabi crops for higher productivity.

Popiha Bordoloi, Subject Matter Specialist (Soil Science) trained the farmers with a demonstration on collection of soil samples for testing and a lecture on importance of soil health cards to improve productivity.

Forty-two farmers and rural youth participated in the programme.
