Shillong, Nov 8: The Jaiñtia Joint Alliance (JJA) has demanded the release of arrested truck leaders of the Meghalaya Commercial Truck Owners and Drivers Association (MCTODA).

The JJA, a joint committee of the Jaintia Youth Federation and War Jaintia Students’ Union, in a statement said differences in opinion among leaders are hindering progress, allowing external groups, such as cement factories, to take advantage of the situation and exploit the indigenous people.

JJA Secretary Everest Langstang and the War Jaintia Students Union (WJSU) said members of Joint Action Committee (JAC), a conglomeration of the Jaintia Hills Truck Owners Association (JHTOA) and the East Jaintia Hills Truck Owner and Transporter Association (EJHTOTA) and MCTODA should come to an agreement and work together fo
