WASHOUGAL — The Washougal Panthers won’t know if Friday’s 30–23 victory over Fife was their final home game of 2025 at Fishback Stadium until Sunday, when the Class 2A state playoff field is finalized and their round-of-16 opponent is announced.
If it was indeed the finale, the Panthers gave their fans a memorable sendoff — even if it came with some anxious moments for the 2A Greater St. Helens League champions. The night featured a rally from a two-score deficit, another 200-yard performance from the region’s leading rusher, and a defense that flex mightily every time Fife threatened to score in the second half.
“I thought that was the game right there,” running back and cornerback Royce Jones said of the Panther defense.
The hard-earned victory extended Washougal’s (9-1) winning strea
