Lucknow, Nov 07: Uttar Pradesh Government has taken major disciplinary action in the State Tax Department, suspending Deputy Commissioner of State Tax Rajesh Kumar Dwivedi with immediate effect over a Rs 5.95 crore fake Input Tax Credit scam.
According to the departmental inquiry, Dwivedi committed serious irregularities during his tenure as Assistant Commissioner in Gorakhpur. He allegedly failed to follow mandatory guidelines while approving GST registrations for some Traders.
The inquiry held Dwivedi prima facie responsible for the financial loss & as a result, he has been suspended under Rule 4 of the UP Government Servant (Discipline and Appeal) Rules, 1999.
During the suspension period, he will remain attached to the office of the Joint Commissioner (Executive), State Tax, Saharan
