The traditional election night pictures showed victors holding their hands up, proudly proclaiming their wins, as well as losers at the podium thanking their supporters, asking their voters to keep fighting for their shared causes, promising to keep standing up for their beliefs despite their loss.

Were the election results a rebuke of Trumpism? Probably. Did people vote because their bank accounts are struggling despite the reality being promised by Republicans? Most likely.

Were judges retained out of a fear of sliding into autocracy? Perhaps. Did entire school boards get removed because people hate censorship more than they agree with parents’ rights? Who knows!?
