The first fall frost may arrive early next week for the lowcountry.
The National Weather Service (NWS) is predicting a widespread freeze in the southeast coasts of South Carolina and Georgia from Monday night to Tuesday morning.
A strong cold front will push through the region Monday morning, preceded by a 20% chance of rain on Sunday afternoon, according to the NWS Charleston station's Thursday weather briefing.
Though Savannah's Monday low might just be a couple of degrees above freezing at 34˚F with a high of 54˚F, the NWS predicts . The following night's low will likely be just a few degrees warmer. Temperatures will return to a sunny high of 70˚F on Thursday.
