GATES MILLS, Ohio — Villa Angela-St. Joseph scored twice within the first minute and didn’t stop.
The Vikings advanced past Maple Heights, 69-32 , on Friday night in the OHSAA Division III, Region 9 playoffs with a dominant performance. They scored 42 points in the first quarter and had 61 by halftime.
Senior quarterback Joe Efford threw for 244 yards and four touchdowns on 8-of-10 passing. T.J. Moore added three rushing TDs, all in the first few minutes, and had 113 yards on 11 first-half carries. He added a fourth score on a second-quarter reception from Efford.
Junior tight end D’Angelo White added 126 yards on three receptions, including a one-handed grab for a 62-yard score.
VASJ (9-1), which advances to play at top-seeded Canfield (10-1) next week, gained 538 yards. The Vikings
