The Granton Waterfront is a brownfield site where the £1.3 billion regeneration project has already started with the restoration of the Gas Holder, the creation of a new park and the renovation of Granton Station.

The next part of the regeneration project will begin in 2026 with funding of £42 million from The Scottish Government to support housing on the site. The funding will be made available over 20 years. Work will begin next year on building a new primary school, commercial space, and 847 net zero homes, of which 387 will be affordable.

Eventually the site will become home to 3,500 new houses, space for leisure and Scotland’s largest coastal park.
