GRAND RAPIDS, MI – When seasons are on the line, athletes will fight tooth and nail for the opportunity to keep playing, so it’s no surprise that a few of Friday’s slate of Grand Rapids-area district championship football games came down to the wire.

The most thrilling finish was in Division 5, where West Catholic stuffed GR Catholic Central’s two-point conversion attempt in overtime to escape with a 21-20 win.
