In case you missed it, the Atlanta Braves replaced their pitching coach, bullpen coach, first base coach and third base coach this week. They moved Brian Snitker to an off-field role and installed Walt Weiss as manager. We’re not sure who’s going to be the bench coach but the hitting coach looks to still have his role. But then again, Mark Bowman has said a lot of things this offseason about the coaching staff and manager role. As Ivan put it yesterday, why replace so many coaches and not replace the hitting coach or do something different at manager, when those two were the least performing members of the staff and the ones removed ranged from just fine to great?
