Jack’s Mannequin is a heavy subject for Andrew McMahon.
It started as a kind of solo project he started, with substantial buzz, during 2004, outside of his band Something Corporate. But prior to the release of the first Jack’s Mannequin album “Everything in Transit,” during August of 2025, McMahon was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia — an irony given that the band was named for a childhood friend who’d battled leukemia. All plans for the new endeavor had to be shelved while McMahon underwent treatment, including a stem cell transplant from his sister.
