COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho — More than six months after a tense Republican town hall , Idaho’s attorney general says Kootenai County Sheriff Bob Norris was within his rights to have a woman and three others removed.

When Teresa Borrenpohl interrupted speakers at a February town hall, Norris told her to leave. She refused to get up. That's when five private security guards forcibly dragged her from the meeting while hundreds of people looked on.

Borrenpohl filed a lawsuit arguing their actions violated her First Amendment rights. The security guards are facing battery and false imprisonment charges.

"If folks could feel that comfortable to violate my person with 450 people watching, that's what really lingers," Borrenpohl told KREM 2 in April.
