CHICAGO — A man is dead and an investigation is underway on Saturday after a shooting on the city's South Side overnight.

Chicago police say the deadly shooting unfolded just after 10 p.m. Saturday in the 900 block of West 63rd Parkway, in Englewood.

According to police, officers were first called to the scene following a report of a person shot in the area, and when they arrived, they found the victim, a 36-year-old man, who had suffered gunshot wounds to his neck and head.

The victim was then pronounced dead on the scene.

Police said a witness later told officers that they had seen an unidentified male exit a white sedan and open fire on the victim before getting back in the car and fleeing the scene.

It is currently unclear what led to the shooting and no arrests have been made.
