GASTONIA — With the margin for error tighter than ever, quarterback Caden Ingle and the Erwin offense put their best foot forward in the team's NCHSAA 5A West playoff opener at Hunter Huss.
Ingle accounted for four first half touchdowns in helping the Warriors to 35 first-half points, propelling Erwin to a 49-21 rout to kick off the postseason.
“Credit to (Ingle); he’s a three-year starter, but I really thought he let things develop,” said Erwin coach Rodney Pruett. “He was comfortable in the pocket, moving around and finding open target. As he goes, we go; and though it’s been a struggle at times playing a tough schedule. But as we told the kids, we’re in the playoffs; everyone is 0-0 and it’s win or go home.”
