MANZANITA, Ore. — A shark washed up on the beach in Manzanita, and a local beachgoer, noticing it was in distress, did what many wouldn’t dare: She grabbed the shark and pulled it back out into deeper waters herself.
“There was nobody around to ask for help, so I just made the quick decision to get him back into the deep Pacific Ocean,” Colleen Dunn said.
Dunn told KGW she went for a walk on the beach at sunset with her dogs last month when she noticed the shark.
“Probably about 15 feet in front of me, I saw something that looked like driftwood and then, I noticed it was moving,” Dunn said.
When she got closer, she noticed it was in trouble.
