MURPHYSBORO, Ill. (WSIL) — When budgets get tight, pet care can often fall down the priority list. But one local shelter is helping make sure pets don’t get left behind.
Dozens of families brought their dogs and cats to Wright-Way Rescue in Murphysboro Friday for a free vaccine clinic, giving pet owners a financial break while keeping their animals healthy.
The one-day event was made possible through a partnership with Petco Love, which supplied the vaccines at no cost. Wright-Way staff and volunteers provided free exams, along with several low-cost services like microchipping, flea prevention, and heart-worm testing.
Wright-Way’s Admission Center Director, Christine Chance, said the need was clear from the moment appointments opened.
