The North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services (NCDHHS) says it has paused plans to issue full November Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) benefits after a Friday night U.S. Supreme Court ruling allowed the Trump administration to temporarily block distribution.
Partial benefits were loaded onto Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) cards Friday morning for more than 586,000 North Carolina households. State officials had expected to issue the rest of the benefits over the weekend but the court’s decision halted that effort.
