Will Hamilton Tiger-Cats fans be celebrating a trip to the Grey Cup or will Saturday be a day of bitter disappointment?

The Ticats host the Montreal Alouettes at 3 p.m. (the game is on TV on TSN, on Y108 radio, as well as online at the Ticats Audio Network) with a berth in the CFL championship on the line. The team has announced the game is a sellout and the tailgate parties around Hamilton Stadium were already roaring hours before kickoff.

Local fans need no reminder of what’s at stake.

It’s been 26 years since Hamilton hoisted the Grey Cup. That’s, by far, the longest drought in the league. Having a chance to correct that would put an exclamation point on a season in which the black and gold went from last place in the East to first.
